Girls' Brigade at the Central United Reformed Church, Hove.

The 1st Hove Girls' Brigade Company, founded in 1907, is a Christian Organisation for girls from the age of 5 and meets weekly on Tuesday evenings during the school year at Central United Reformed Church, Hove.

Tuesday Evening Activities

For all age groups, the girls are offered a wide range of activities throughout their evening, which contribute to a badge. These activites cover four sections: Spiritual, Physical, Educational & Service and some examples of recently undertaken activities are listed below:

Spiritual

Bible Drama: Exploring the New Testament: Banner Making: Bible Memory: The Christian Life.

Physical

Line Dancing: Party Games: Camper: Team Games: Rhythmic Movement

Education

Choir: Drama: Cookery: Safety: Health Education

Service

Helping at home: Country Code: Raising Money: People with Special Needs: Endangered Species

 

Other Activites

Throughout the year, the company underakes many other activities, such as:

  • Summer Camp (for Juniors, Seniors & Brigaders)

  • Pantomime (for all members), proceeds towards a nominated charity

  • Carol Singing (for all members)

  • Sponsored Events (for all members)

  • Duke Of Edinburgh Award (for Brigaders)

  • Young Leaders Training (for Brigaders)

  • Day Outings (for all members)
